Saturday the 14th, Kristine had been pregnant officially for 35 weeks 5 days. She was feeling very very big and miserable as usual. Kaitlyn turned 4 years old the previous day and we had some of her cousins over to celebrate. At about 7:00 pm Kristine was looking very much done and started to shake. This was the final straw after a day of contractions and we got things together to head to AltaView hospital.

We got checked in, after a short evaluation, they officially said we could stay and we settled in for the night - waking every few hours to check how dilated Kristine was.
Our plan was to deliver both babies vaginally - avoiding the C-Section if we could. However, with twins it is customary to always deliver in the Operating Room in case surgery is needed after all. At about 8:00 Kristine was rolled to the operating room and Kathy and I suited up in our OR grubs.
After a very short push Joseph was born at 9:19am on January 15, 2017 weighing in at 7 pounds 7 ounces. James would be born a short time later at 10:?? am on January 15, 2017 weighing in at 7 pounds 5 ounces. That is nearly 15 pounds of baby that Kristine had been carrying around!!!
Back to Joseph being born...Dr. Twede placed him briefly on Kristine's tummy while the cord was cut and then wisked by the nurses to the heating table. All was good until about 30 seconds later when everyone realized that he wasn't going to start crying and breathing.

Joseph and James were born on January 15, 2017.
